My step-aunt Kathy is in town today for my dad's birthday. But I have to leave right after his celebration, because of my sleepover with Emma* and Jackie*! We're doing nails and seeing the Katy Perry movie! I love Katy Perry.
Have I seriously gone this far without mentioning Emma and Jackie? Well, they're my two best friends in the entire world. (Except for Julia* and Maddie*, but both of those are different and long stories. I'll get to them later.)
Emma also has a blog on here, tweenagerswelcome.blogspot.com. I'm pretty sure you'll get to know her well on her own blog, but I'll introduce her here as well.
She, much like me, loves to sing, except she is better at it than I am. She's best at a pop style.
(My brother is singing from his "Mammals of the U.S." encyclopedia. WTF)
Anyway, she has a very defined style, she only wears dresses or a yoga pants+tie-dye T-shirt+Aeropostale sweatshirt combo. Even in freaking summer. She is the only one of us that cares to wear makeup on a daily basis (well, maybe I want to but my STUPID step-mom won't let me). She doesn't care for reading (once again, the only one of us) and is pretty self-centered. The best thing about her is her randomness, likableness, and ability to relate to pretty much anything. The worst thing about her is her inability to have an actual conversation (over text or chat, in person she's fine).
I actually don't know if Jackie has a blog on here. I'll make a point to ask her that.
She also loves to sing, and I don't know if she's better than I am or not because she's never sang for me. She insists that I'm better, but there's no way to prove it until I've heard her. She says she's best at a Broadway style, and I believe her.
She also has a defined style, always an Aeropostale tee+black leggings. She only wears tasty lip stuff, as far as I know. She loves reading (but likes "Hunger Games" better than "Divergent". Grrr). She, the polar opposite of Emma, is very negative about herself. She has a dream to be on Broadway one day, specifically Elphaba in the production "Wicked" and Eponine in "Les Miserables". She's actually doing a Les Mis theater camp presently, the production is today. Of course she wouldn't tell me where it is. She has scales for everything. One for how wrong-minded you are (Emma is 60-40, I am 65-35), how good your singing is (Emma is A-, I am B+), and how pretty you are (Emma is B-, I am A-).The best thing about her is her funniness and her always-return-texts policy. The worst thing about her is that she doesn't want to sing for me and Emma.
I did promise I'd tell you about Maddie and Julia.
I've known Maddie since third grade. She was in our little group for a little while, but then she stopped editing the Google docs (which are me, Emma, and Jackie's means of communication). So then she and the rest of them got kicked out, and now it's technically just me, Emma, and Jackie. Maddie's still one of my good friends, I'm going to her place tomorrow after Emma's sleepover.
She loves the earth, and even though her mom owns a small art deco store, she's not crafty. She gets along well with everyone and has a very distinct style, like her mom, she's very art deco in that way. She gets all of her clothes from Anthropologie, Target, and H&M. She ranks a B- on Jackie's singing scale. She has a dog named Lucy and two parakeets, Daffodil and Hydrangea.
I've known Julia since we lived somewhere other than we are now. In other words, since I was 6 months old. We just visited Julia and her family (we both moved, so she lives...once again, somewhere else) last month, for the first time since I was in fourth grade. She is the tomboy of the grade, she loves Minecraft (especially Creepers). She's hilarious, and beautiful, even though she won't suggest it. Ever heard of Dani Cimorelli? Julia looks EXACTLY like her. It's quite creepy.
Well, until tomorrow. Wait, maybe not tomorrow, at least until Sunday.
